Tension-induced magnetic Barkhausen noise morphology transition caused by pre-introduced strain

چکیده
Magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) technology is widely used to reveal the microscopic mechanism of magnetomechanical phenomena, but morphological transition induced by tension has not yet been confirmed experimental measurements. Here, we report a novel effect on morphology MBN signals due tensile stress with pre-introduced strain. We present power-law relation between critical for and degree strain, highlighting strong correlation plastic deformation response. Through comprehensive simulations, that dislocations localized in regions distinct densities trigger different avalanches, thereby leading bimodal signal. Upon reloading, an effective field introduced promotes realignment magnetic domains, resulting formation unimodal Our unprecedented findings provide valuable insights into signal response, opening new avenue designing optimizing ferromagnetic materials tailored behavior.

Grain size measurement using magnetic and acoustic Barkhausen noise
Results on annealed nickel show that the total number of counts of both magnetic and acoustic Barkhausen signals vary inversely with grain size. In decarburized steels the total number of counts and the amplitude of both Barkhausen signals increase in proportion to grain size. The paper addresses these results in context of grain size, grain‐boundary segregation, and precipitate effect.

The testing method using Barkhausen noise (B.N) is a particular method, which can be applied on ferromagnetic materials. It is a magnetic non destructive evaluation (NDE) method and can provide very important information about the material microstructure. The work here presented documents the ability to determine the metallurgical state of steel. A new approach is studied of defects; microstruc...

Hysteresis loops are often seen in experiments at first order phase transformations when the system goes out of equilibrium, such as in the supercooling of liquids and in magnets. The nonequilibrium, zero-temperature random-field Ising model has been studied as a model for the hysteretic behavior of these transformations. As disorder is added, one finds a transition where the jump in the satura...

Pipelines are pressure vessels. Their enviable safety record compares weil with other transportation modes. Typical pipeline fatality rates are about 1% those of rail or air which are, in turn, about 1% of highway fatalities. Pipeline safety is first assured by rigorous inspection during pipe manufacture and line construction. All welds are inspected using radiography to detect voids and ultras...
